How to get to Trondheim
An addition to numerous connections via Oslo Airport Gardermoen, there are also some direct international flights to Trondheim Airport Værnes. These include:
For a full list of other direct connections, see
www.avinor.no/en/airport/trondheim/timetables.
Unless you plan a stay overnight in Oslo, we do not recommend flying into either
of the two other airports in the Oslo area, i.e. Rygge or Torp. There are no flights from Torp to Trondheim, and only a few flights from Rygge. Almost all flights to Trondheim are from Oslo Airport Gardermoen (OSL).
Coming from abroad and passing through Oslo Airport Gardermoen on your way to Trondheim requires you to take your luggage through customs in Oslo.
Check it in again for the domestic flight, and pass through the security control.
If you have any business in Oslo before or after the conference, the cheapest option is probably to book your Trondheim flight well in advance with
Norwegian. Discounted train tickets (‘minipris’) are also available from time to time, see (www.nsb.no/?lang=en_US). For most trains, the journey between Trondheim and Oslo takes around seven hours. The train via Dombås (‘Dovrebanen’) crosses the mountains above the tree line (1024 m above sea level).
To get to the center of Trondheim from the airport, we recommend the airport bus (NOK 90, one way), with frequent departures from just outside the terminal (http://www.flybussen.no/trondheim/index.asp?lang=ENG). The bus takes 50 minutes to the conference hotel, Quality Hotel Augustin and stops right outside. A pre-booked airport taxi (tel: +47-07373) costs NOK 320. A regular taxi will be more than NOK 500.
